Summary:
Change Order No. 1 (final) reduces the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved expenditure by ($74,730.59) and accepts the contract as complete. The reduction in expenditure is due to the difference between estimated and final quantities, and balance of unspecified work not utilized. Substantial completion for this project was achieved on April 24, 2017; final completion was accepted on February 8, 2018. The protracted time between substantial and final completion was necessary in order to complete walk-through inspections with project stakeholders; complete punch list items; complete final testing and to receive certified “as builts” which included final approval of the Southwest Florida Water Management District, Army Corp of Engineers and the Engineer of Record. As part of this change order, the Agreement term is increased by two hundred ninety (290) calendar days.
Background/Explanation:
The purpose of this project was to construct a multimodal trail facility along the Duke Energy transmission corridor from Sunset Point Road to the southern connection of the existing trail overpass at U.S. 19, south of Enterprise Road. The project provides connectivity and expansion of the Trail network, thus enhancing the transportation, recreation, and economic benefits for residents and visitors. The Board awarded this project on April 26, 2016.
Fiscal Impact:
Total expenditure not to exceed: $1,236,988.75
Reduction due to Change Order No. 1 ($ 74,730.59)
