Recommended Action

Recommended Action:

Approval by the County Administrator for the continuation of the Grant Agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for BioWatch Program for field operations and sample collection activities.

Summary:

This continuation award provides a one year project period extension.  County air monitoring under this grant program/project has been on-going since 2003.

 

Background/Explanation:

This project is subject to certain information security restrictions per DHS. All information is considered “Sensitive but Unclassified” (SBU), “For Official Use Only” (FOUO), and is not for public disclosure.  Any public records requests made relating to this agreement should be directed to DHS.

Legistar File 17-142D provides information on the application submitted for this award.

 

Fiscal Impact:

The award action provides total funding of $173,000.00 for the project period October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018 with $61,500.00 obligated funds in this action and $111,500.00 in previously obligated funds.  No match is required.  The grant provides 100% reimbursements for approved costs.  Expenditures are budgeted in the Air Quality Division operating budget of the General Fund for FY 2018.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve this Grant Agreement is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(1).
