Summary:
This contract is for requirements of grit removal services to be utilized at water and sewer treatment facilities, collection systems, and pump stations on an as needed basis. The contract has provision for price adjustments (increase/decrease) at twelve (12) month intervals after award not to exceed the average of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all Urban Consumers, Not Seasonally Adjusted, based upon the prior twelve (12) month period.
Background Information:
On May 20, 2016, Purchasing, on behalf of Utilities, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for grit removal services. This competitive process was re-bid as the first attempt to secure a contract was rejected by the County Administrator due to lack of competition (one response received). Two responses were received during the re-bid process.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed: $1,812,500.00
Funding is derived from the Utilities’ Sewer Operating Budget.
