Summary:

Execution of this Amendment will provide Creative Pinellas with use of the Auditorium, which contains 100 seats, to facilitate periodic artistic and cultural public workshops by Creative Pinellas and its local and regional artistic incubator partners.

Background/Explanation:

Creative Pinellas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate a vibrant, integrated, collaborative and sustainable Pinellas County Arts Community. Creative Pinellas is the Board of County Commissioners’ designated local arts agency.

The Temporary License Agreement (Agreement) permits periodic use of the Exhibit Area in the Gallery building. Adding use of the Auditorium will further support, encourage and nurture individual artists, arts organizations, and the arts community in Pinellas County.

Creative Pinellas will submit a Facilities Use Agreement to Real Estate Management to secure use of the Exhibit Area and/or Auditorium for its organization and/or on behalf of its incubator sub-licensees. The term of this Agreement shall be concurrent with the Lease Agreement with Creative Pinellas dated April 11, 2017.

Fiscal Impact:

The revenue to the County will be $50.00 per event day in which the Exhibit Area or Auditorium has been approved for use by Creative Pinellas.  The daily event rate will cover the daily operating expense of the Auditorium, as the County is responsible for utilities and contracted services costs from the Real Estate Management Department operating budget.

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this Amendment is granted under Code Section 2-62(a)(5).
