Recommended Action:

Recommended Action

Adoption of a Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to declare an escheated property surplus, transfer the parcel by donation to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County (Habitat), and authorize the Chairman to sign the County Deed and the Clerk to attest the Resolution and County Deed.

It is further recommended the Board authorize the Clerk to record the Resolution and County Deed in the Public Records of Pinellas County.

Summary:

The purpose of this action is to transfer by donation, the escheated and surplused parcel to Habitat for construction of a single family home on the parcel.  Habitat requested the County transfer the parcel to them. 

 

Background Information:

This parcel escheated to Pinellas County in 2014.  The property is not needed for infill or other County purposes, and restitution to the previous record owner is not feasible. 

Habitat owns property next to this parcel located in Baskin Heights Subdivision Lot 19 and has requested this parcel for affordable housing development construction.
