Approve two citizen appointments to the Parks and Conservation Resources Advisory Board. These appointments are for two-year terms, beginning on August 1, 2024.

 

                     List of applicants can be viewed on the attached ballot/worksheet.

                     Ballot/worksheet will be provided by the Clerk.

Background Information:

The Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator, and Parks and Conservation Resources Department.  Duties of the Advisory Board include but are not limited to reviewing parks or environmental lands plans; participation in public education and ceremonial activities; taking citizen comment on parks or environmental lands; formulation of proposals to improve parks and environmental lands.

Ten total members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).  Seven of the members are nominated by each member of the BCC with two-year terms that run concurrently with that of their respective nominating Commissioner.  Of the three additional members, one must be a member of and nominated by the County's Youth Advisory Committee, and two must have experience in environmental science and/or policy; the terms of these three additional members are likewise two-year terms that run from August 1st through July 31st.
