Summary:
The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program application modification consists of a staff name change to the POC form. This action is necessitated by the former POC leaving County employment. Funding from FDEM, if awarded, will be applied to the construction of the McKay Creek Operable Lake Controls and SCADA project. There is no fiscal impact to this request.
Background/Explanation:
Potential grant funding will provide construction funding assistance for the proposed flood mitigation project to implement lake level SCADA controls at two (2) locations, Taylor Lake, and Walsingham Reservoir, which are part of the McKay Creek watershed. The subject drainage improvement project is a watershed-wide benefit to temporarily lower lake levels of both major waterbodies during select times of the rainy season and before a hurricane/major rainfall event. The total construction cost estimate is approximately $4,000,000.00. The requested Grant Program funding is $3,000,000.00, with an anticipated County match of $1,000,000.00.
