Recommended Action

Approval by the County Administrator of the purchase authorization with GatorMoto Utility Vehicles and More LLC for a new passenger tram used for educational and industry tours at the South Cross Wastewater Treatment Plant.

                     This purchase authorization provides the Utilities Department a replacement passenger tram.

                     This purchase is replacing a vehicle that exceeded end-of-life capacity and for which the previous vendor was terminated due to a 3 year period in which they failed to deliver the vehicle.

                     Prices, terms, and conditions are per GSA Contract # | GS-03F-038CA; effective through March 5, 2030

 

Contract No. 25-0750-PB Transit Passenger Tram not to exceed $175,766.09.

Summary:

This purchase authorization provides the Utilities Department with a new tram for Utilities South Cross Wastewater Treatment Plant facility.

 

Background/Explanation:

The previous contract with SVI Inc DBA Specialty Vehicles was cancelled following a three (3) year waiting period in which the vendor was unable to deliver the vehicle.

Factors utilized to determine the end of useful and economic life include, but are not limited to age, mileage/hours of operation, historical maintenance cost as compared to like vehicles, operating cost per mile/hour, anticipated and ongoing repairs, and physical condition

 

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed $175,766.09

Funding is derived from the departments operating budget.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve this purchase is granted under Code Section 2-164(2)(a).
