Bid No. 156-0079-CP(DF); in the amount of $1,268,625.00 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting specifications; all work is expected to be completed within 400 consecutive calendar days. Chairman to sign and Clerk of Court to attest.

Summary:
The purpose of this project is to construct intersection improvements at Belcher Road and Belleair Road for the purpose of increasing capacity through the intersection and providing enhanced pedestrian and bike safety. This project was selected as a high priority project from the intersection improvement priority list due to the lack of intersection capacity and the additional traffic generated by the completion of the overpass at US 19 and Belleair Road.
Background Information:
On December 25, 2015, the Purchasing Department on behalf of the Department of Public Works released a bid for intersection improvements at Belcher Road and Belleair Road.
Intersection improvements include: mast arm signals, right turn lanes and the westbound left turn lane on Belleair Road being extended. Pedestrian and bicycle accommodations have been proposed in the form of a ten foot (10) wide multi-use path and bike lane on Belleair Road.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated expenditure not to exceed: $1,268,625.00
Funding for this project is derived from the Infrastructure Sales Tax (Penny for Pinellas) providing 50% and the remaining 50% provided with grant funding from the Florida Department of Transportation.
