Approval of the Fiscal Year 2020 Board Budget Amendment No. 4 realigning appropriation from the General Government - Reserves, at the request of the Supervisor of Elections, for Contingencies to the Supervisor of Elections cost center within the General Fund.

 

                     This amendment realigns a total of $370,000.00 from the General Fund Reserves for contingencies.

                     Appropriation is needed to cover costs associated with Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller staff working for the Supervisor of Elections.

Background Information:

Due to COVID-19 impacts, an additional $370,000.00 is required to offset Clerk staff who are being employed in lieu of temporary staff traditionally hired by the Supervisor of Elections.

 

Fiscal Impact:

This amendment realigns FY20 appropriation in the amount of $370,000.00 from the General Fund Reserves for Contingencies to increase the Supervisor of Elections budget as outlined above.  These expenses were not anticipated and not included in the FY20 Revised Budget or the estimates used in development of the FY21 Tentative Budget. Additional funding has been included in the FY21 Tentative Budget for this purpose.
