• This Agreement is for elevator and escalator maintenance countywide.

• This Agreement was originally approved by the County Administrator on July 1, 2019 and remains in effect until April 30, 2024.

Summary:

Background/Explanation:
This agreement was originally approved by the County Administrator on July 1, 2019 in the amount of $566,000.00, effective through April 30, 2024.
Schindler has been the provider of preventative maintenance for County elevators and escalators since 2005. Schindler provides maintenance and repair services to more than thirty-six (36) County locations.
The maintenance program is the result of an ongoing engineering effort to maintain optimum reliability of the equipment as it ages and common problems are identified. Twenty-six (26) locations have Schindler elevators and escalators installed and contain proprietary software in the controllers. Schindler is the original equipment manufacturer of the controllers, is the only supplier who can provide the proper tooling to diagnose problems and is the only company that can continually provide all new software upgrades.
