Summary:
This action declares the mass spectrometer and the ion chromatograph as surplus and authorizes sale to the highest responsible bidder, pursuant to Florida Statutes, Chapter 274. The Utilities Department staff determined the usefulness of the equipment has been exhausted for its business purposes.
Background Information:
These two pieces of equipment have been in use in the Logan Water Laboratory. The mass spectrometer was purchased in 2003 and the ion chromatograph was purchased in 2002. Both are fully depreciated. The equipment will be sold in place to the highest bidder, utilizing the existing contract with GovDeals.com.
Fiscal Impact:
Revenues derived from the surplus sale will be returned to the Utilities Department Water Fund.
