5.3 Ensure effective and efficient delivery of county services and support

Summary:

This request is for an increase to the contract for guardrail materials and services utilized by the Public Works Department.  The increase is necessary to support embankment work for a project along Eastlake Road, from Maple Trace to Wentworth Golf Course, and to replace guard cushions on a crash guard attenuator for the Bayside Bridge north bound exit ramp.  Additional work that includes reseating of eroding non-standard guardrail posts and installation of a stable sand wall will be performed through this contract at a separate location.

Background Information:

This contract was originally awarded by the County Administrator on December 22, 2014, and Change Order No. 1 was approved on July 5, 2016, which modified a line item unit of measure.  The first and final term extension to the contract was approved by the County Administrator on November 2, 2017. Originally awarded by the County Administrator, this request for an increase now requires Board Approval.

The increase will be applied to the unspecified services portion of the contract.  Public Works will be adding these specific services to the specifications on the next contract when this contract expires.
