Summary:
Agreement with PTS is for exhibition space at the 2023 Pittsburgh Travel Showcase, which is scheduled for January 20-22, 2023, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Participation at this show is necessary to meet the marketing goals of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) as it involves distributing information about the St. Pete/Clearwater area to tourism consumers.
Background/Explanation:
At this show, the CVB will meet with consumers and AAA travel advisors, respond to inquiries, and distribute marketing materials. Attendance at past shows has exceeded 8,000 and AAA anticipates there will be even higher attendance in 2023 due to the pent-up demand for travel. AAA advisors will be on site to book travel and will report confirmed bookings, as well as follow up with additional bookings after the show. Six different airlines operate flights between Pittsburgh and Tampa and all together average approximately 1,020 flights per month, which demonstrates the importance of this market.
Fiscal Impact:
Cost: $1,695.00
Funding to support the Exhibitor Agreement in the amount of $1,695.00 is provided through the CVB’s Annual Operating Budget. The source of funding is the Tourist Development Tax Fund.
