Approval by the County Administrator for the emergency contract for carpet cleaning and sanitizing services Geyen Group South Inc (Geyen) at various County buildings due to COVID19.
• This emergency contract is for additional carpet cleaning and sanitizing services at various County facilities (spreadsheet attached in Granicus) in response to the COVID19 pandemic. The carpets are to be cleaned more frequent and sanitized accordingly to kill germs. This emergency engagement will be through June 30, 2020 unless extended due to the contagion.
• The County has a contract for carpet cleaning services with Geyen awarded by the Board of County Commissioners on July 18, 2017.
• The price for additional carpet cleaning and sanitizing services is $139,637.00.
Contract No. 190-0403-E(RO) in the amount of $139,637.00 through June 30, 2020.

Summary:
This emergency work involves additional carpet cleaning and sanitizing services at various County facilities in concert with the increased janitorial efforts in response to the COVID19 pandemic.
Background/Explanation:
This emergency work will occur in conjunction with the increased janitorial effort while the facilities are predominantly unoccupied.
The County currently has a contract for carpet cleaning services at various County buildings with Geyen awarded by the Board of County Commissioners on July 18, 2017 in the amount of $1,326,775.00 through July 31, 2022.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated expenditure not to exceed: $139,637.00.
Funding is derived from operating budgets of requesting departments and will be submitted as a request to FEMA for reimbursement of COVID19 related expenditures.
Delegated Authority:
Authority for the County Administrator to approve this emergency contract is granted under Code Section 2-181.
