Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Second Amendment to the Agreement for a corporate name change, from West Safety Services, Inc. to Intrado Life & Safety, Inc. for Next Generation 9-1-1 networking services.
• Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) systems, operate on an Internet Protocol (IP) platform and enable interconnection among a wide range of public and private networks.
• This contract provides for Next Generation 9-1-1 network services at the Public Safety Complex and has been in place since 2014; it will be rebid early 2020.
• As of Dec 2019, circuits are in place and the annual cost changes only as new or upgraded circuits prove necessary.
• This amendment recognizes a corporate name change from West Safety Services, Inc. to Intrado Life & Safety, Inc. is for brand marketing purposes only; all other terms of the agreement, including the Federal ID (FEIN) number, remain the same.
• This amendment has no fiscal impact to the contract.
Contract No. 123-0283-P (JJ); in the total amount of $5,885,090.68 with an estimated annual expenditure of $1,177,018.14 through August 31, 2020. This Amendment has no fiscal impact to the Agreement as awarded.

Summary:
Effective October 10, 2019, West Safety Services, Inc. changed their name to Intrado Life & Safety, Inc.
This is a name change only, no assignment or transfer of authority has taken place; all other aspects of the current agreement shall remain the same.
Background/Explanation:
On January 28, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved the agreement for the engineering, installation and maintenance of the Next Generation 9-1-1 Network for the Public Safety Complex. There have been four (4) previous change orders and one (1) previous amendment, all of which have been approved by the County Administrator.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this Amendment.
Approved sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed: $5,885,090.68
Estimated annual expenditure: $1,177,018.14
Funding is derived from the E9-1-1 Service Fee Fund.
Delegated Authority:
Authority for the County Administrator to acknowledge this corporate name change is granted under Code Section 2-62(a)(2).
