Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment Term Extension with Allied Universal Corp.
• This contract provides Pinellas County Utilities and Solid Waste departments with sodium hypochlorite to treat County water systems.
• This First Amendment exercises a twenty-four (24) month term extension per the terms of the original contract approved by the Board of County Commissioners (Board), increasing by $400,000.00 and extending from July 31, 2026, to July 31, 2028.
• On August 15, 2023, the Board awarded this contract in the amount of $7,807,709.28 for a thirty-six (36) month term.
• This request is budgeted for in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Budget of Solid Waste and PCU in the Solid Waste Revenue and Operating Fund, Water Revenue and Operating Fund, and Sewer Revenue and Operating Fund. In the event that future fiscal year funding is not available for this agreement, the County maintains the authority to terminate this agreement.
Contract No. 22-0701-B, increase in the amount of $400,000.00 for a revised total not to exceed expenditure of $8,207,709.28, effective through July 31, 2028.

Background Information:
This contract provides sodium hypochlorite - 12.5 trade percent, on an as needed basis, used in the disinfection of drinking, reclaimed, and industrial water to protect public health and maintain compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency standards and regulations by PCU and PCSW Departments.
