Recommended Action

Approval by the County Administrator of the termination of the Agreement with Limosouth, Inc. for limousine, bus and taxi services for the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

 

                     This contract provides limousine, bus and taxi services for the CVB.

                     This sixty (60) month contract was awarded by the County Administrator on October 27, 2023, to three vendors for a combined total not to exceed amount of $1,082,883.00 for sixty (60) months through October 26, 2028, with an estimated annual expenditure of $216,576.60.

                     Termination for convenience with one of the three contractors due to Limosouth, Inc. selling their transportation franchise. The new ownership has stated they are unable to fulfill the contractual obligations of this agreement.

                     This contract contains two other contractors that are not affected by this termination and have sufficient funding on their contracts at this time to carry out services.

                     Termination of this contract has no fiscal impact on Pinellas County.

Summary:

Limosouth, Inc. has sold their transportation franchise, and the new ownership is unable to fulfill the contractual obligations of this agreement.

 

Background/Explanation:

On October 27, 2023, the County Administrator awarded this contract to three vendors for a total combined not to exceed amount of $1,082,883.00 for sixty (60) months. Of this amount, $583,767.25, or approximately 46%, was awarded to Limosouth, Inc.

On April 5, 2024, Limosouth, Inc. notified the County that the franchise had been sold and the new owner was unable to fulfill the terms of the agreement.

Termination of the agreement with Limosouth, Inc. will not affect the agreements with the remaining two contractors.

Authority for the County administrator to terminate this contract is authorized under Code Section 2-62(a)(2).
