Summary:

Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends award to Alspach Construction and Electric in the amount of $664,532.00.

The purpose of this project is to provide an upgraded and energy-efficient exterior lighting system, which will result in a safer work environment around the process facilities, along the roadways, and within the parking lots at the WEDWRF.

Background Information:

The existing exterior lighting system must be upgraded to comply with current local and federal regulations.  Additionally, the ground-mounted steel poles throughout the facility are corroded at the base, and the hinges and fixtures on these poles have deteriorated housings, lenses, and reflectors.  The new lighting system will utilize energy-efficient and sustainable technology such as light emitting diodes (LED) to reduce operating costs and will provide a safer working environment for operators on evening shifts.

Fiscal Impact:

Total expenditure not to exceed is $664,532.00 to be funded by the Sewer Enterprise Fund.
