Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 (final) with Insituform Technologies, LLC for cured-in-place pipelining (CIPP) rehabilitation services for large diameter sanitary sewer pipelines.

 

                     Rehabilitation of large diameter sanitary sewer interceptor pipelines and manholes using CIPP at six (6) locations.

 

                     The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this project to Insituform Technologies, LLC on February 7, 2017 in the amount of $2,399,533.70

 

                     Final completion occurred January 22,2019 with an increase in price of $38,189.45

 

                     These efforts are in line with the recommendations of the Wastewater/Stormwater Task Force in the area of reducing the impacts of inflow and infiltration into the wastewater system

 

Contract No. 156-0551-CP (JJ); PID No. 002747A; increasing the contract amount by $38,189.45 for a revised total of $2,437,723.15.

Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) increases the Board approved expenditure by $38,189.45 and accepts the contract as complete. The increase in expenditure is due to pipe purchases which were not included in the original bid documents. The pipe sizes located in geographic information system (GIS) prior to bidding were not reflective of the existing pipes identified underground during construction. Substantial completion for this project was achieved on December 13, 2018; final completion was accepted on January 22, 2019. The project was completed 69 calendar days ahead of the scheduled final completion date.

 

Background/Explanation:

This contract was originally awarded by the Board on February 7, 2017 to rehabilitate large diameter sanitary sewer interceptor pipelines and manholes using CIPP.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original estimated expenditure not to exceed:                      $2,399,533.70

Increase due to change order no. 1 (final):                      $     38,189.45

Revised estimated total expenditure:                                           $2,437,723.15
