Award the bid to Suncoast Development of Pinellas County, Inc. for the Duke Energy Trail extension project - Segment B2, Phase 1.

Bid No. 156-0188-CP(DF); in the amount of $1,236,988.75 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting specifications; all work is expected to be completed within three hundred (300) consecutive calendar days. Chairman to sign and Clerk of Court to attest.

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to construct a multimodal trail facility along the Duke Energy transmission corridor from Sunset Point Road to the southern connection of the existing trail overpass at U.S. 19, south of Enterprise Road.  This project provides connectivity and expansion of the Trail network, thus enhancing the transportation, recreation, and economic benefits for residents and visitors.

 

Background Information:

The Duke Energy Trail extension of the Pinellas Trail is located within the Duke Energy right of way providing the corridor to complete a portion of the Trail Loop from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs.  The County and Duke Energy have entered into a partnership that provides the corridor for this connection.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated expenditure not to exceed: $1,236,988.75

 

Funding is derived from the Infrastructure Sales Tax (Penny for Pinellas): Transportation, Road and Street Facilities, Pinellas Trail Projects program allocation.
