Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Temporary License Agreement (Agreement) with Creative Pinellas, Inc. (Creative Pinellas) for the use of a portion of the gallery building (Exhibit Area) at the former Gulfcoast Museum of Art campus, located at 12211 Walsingham Road, in Largo.

Summary:

Execution of this Agreement will provide Creative Pinellas with use of temporary exhibition space within the designated Exhibit Area of the gallery building to facilitate short term public showings of artistic and cultural displays by local and regional artists.

 

Background/Explanation:

Creative Pinellas is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate a vibrant, integrated, collaborative and sustainable Pinellas County Arts Community.  Creative Pinellas is the Board of County Commissioners’ designated local arts agency.

The Exhibit Area consists of approximately 5,000 square feet of space within the gallery building of the former Gulfcoast Museum of Art campus. Use of this Exhibit Area will encourage and nurture individual artists, arts organizations, and the arts community in Pinellas County.

Creative Pinellas will have the ability to sublicense to other entities.

The term of this Agreement shall be concurrent with the Creative Pinellas Lease Agreement dated April 11, 2017.  The Agreement is renewable for successive additional terms of one year by mutual written agreement.

 

Fiscal Impact:

The County is responsible for utilities and contracted services costs.  These costs will be funded by the Real Estate Management operating budget.

 

The revenue to the County will be $50.00 per event day in which an exhibition is open to the public.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this Agreement is granted under Code Section 2-62(a)(5).
