Approval of the assignment of Final Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Registration Number for the new Mosquito Control Helicopter.
• The final step necessary to assign the registration number N14806 for the new H-125 Helicopter from the inoperable Bell-47 Helicopter.
• The Board of County Commissioners (Board) Chairman is required to sign a downloaded “hardcopy with wet signature” as the Board is the helicopter owner.
• The Board authorized the release of the registration number N14806 from the inoperable Bell-47 in November 2023.
Processing and transfer of the registration number is at no cost to the County.

This Form officially assigns the registration number N14806 to the new H-125 helicopter, completing the registration process. The new H-125 helicopter currently has a temporary registration number allowing it to fly. The Form, to be submitted to the FAA, assigns the permanent registration number N14806 to the new H-125 helicopter, replacing the current temporary registration number (N220MC). FAA registration is a legal requirement for flying. Processing and transfer of the registration number is at no cost.

Background Information:
Public Works Mosquito Control currently has two (2) Bell-47 helicopters - one of which is no longer operable but registered with the FAA registration number of N14806. The County maintains the helicopter registration number N14806 associated with its program and transfers it from the current inoperable Bell-47 to the new H-125 helicopter. Registration number N14806 was released from the Bell-47 through previous board action Legistar item 23-1602A in November 2023. The Risk Management Division is aware of the intention to transfer the registration number to the new helicopter. The Public Works Mosquito Control Division will coordinate with Risk Management when the registration process is complete for insurance requirements.
