Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment for a time-only extension to the Interlocal Agreement with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) for British Petroleum (BP) Funding associated with design and installation of electric bus charging stations.
- Original agreement approved by the County Administrator on May 10, 2017, and filed with Board Records on June 20, 2017.
- This amendment provides for a time-only extension of one (1) year, continuing until the project’s completion and final acceptance or within three (3) years from the date of execution, whichever is sooner.

Summary:
Approval of this amendment will allow for additional time necessary to complete the work, and process the final invoice from and reimbursement to PSTA. The amendment provides an additional year, extending the agreement to June 20, 2020 or upon project completion and final acceptance, whichever is sooner. PSTA requested a time extension due to the permitting process with the City of St. Petersburg is taking longer than anticipated.
Background/Explanation:
In accordance with the Board’s approval on December 13, 2016 of BP projects and associated funding for each project, this agreement was approved by the County Administrator on May 10, 2017 to provide $589,000.00 to the PSTA for the design and installation of an electric bus charging station. The electric bus charging station includes an in-route charging station, engineering and installation of chargers, and a depot charger at the PSTA headquarters. The new bus charging station will establish the necessary infrastructure for a low-emission and energy efficient public transport network. PSTA is facilitating the design and installation of the project.
