Summary:
The Ambulance Service Agreement budget for Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) was predicated on a 2% increase in transports based on the 2.45% growth experienced in the two preceding years. Actual transports in FY15 far exceeded the estimate increasing 8% over the prior year. There is evidence the record number of tourists and other visitors contributed to this increase. Amendment No. 6 is to change the not to exceed expenditures and compensation from $42,649,366.78 as listed in Appendix A of Amendment No. 5 for FY15 to $43,607,104.18. The associated transport revenues have also increased and will cover the increased contract costs.
Background Information:
On June 4, 2004 the Board of County Commissioners approved the contract services agreement as well as five (5) amendments through the contract period which expired on September 30, 2015.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated FY15 expenditure not to exceed: $43,607,104.18, an increase of $957,737.40 from the original not to exceed expenditure and compensation amount.
Funding is derived from existing appropriation within the FY15 EMS budget.
