Background Information:

The County is required by law to relocate or replace all utilities in conflict with City’s proposed project improvement area. Utilizing the City’s contractor, through a JPA, is a cost-effective method to limit disruption and inconvenience to area residents resulting in project efficiencies for all stakeholders. The scope of work will include relocating and replacing of 2" through 6" pipe of approximately four thousand five hundred (4,500) linear feet of water distribution mains that are potentially in conflict with the road and drainage improvements along 6th Avenue Northwest from 16th Street Northwest to 14th Street Northwest, Largo

A JPA with the City for design is currently in place for the 6th Avenue NW project. The County’s utility relocation design is approximately 60% complete. The City’s Engineering Consultant is responsible for the design of the roadway and drainage improvements. The JPA process is the most efficient option to complete the relocation and replacement of County infrastructure located in the City’s project areas.
