Approval of the award of bid to Gossamer Bay, Inc. d/b/a Universal Controls Instrument Service Co. for flow meters, parts, repairs, and recalibration service for the Utilities Department.

 

                     This five-year contract provides flow meters, parts, repairs, and recalibration service for the Utilities Department.

                     The total estimated expenditure for the five-year term is $9,731,881.76.

                     Two bids were received with an award recommendation to Gossamer Bay, Inc. d/b/a Universal Controls Instrument Service Co., the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

                     This contract will replace the current contract for flow meters, parts, repairs, and recalibration service, which has a five-year term expiring on September 12, 2021.

 

Contract No. 190-0445-B-(JA) flow meters parts, repairs with an estimated annual amount of $1,946,376.35 for a sixty-month term total of $9,731,881.76. Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Circuit Court to attest.

Summary

This contract provides new flow meters, chemical feed pumps, parts, repairs, and recalibration service throughout the County for water, reclaimed water, and sewer system components. Flow Meters are critical to the County’s water and wastewater system operations. The duration of the contract shall be for a period of five years, and prices will be held firm for the term of the agreement.

Background Information:

On August 28, 2020, the Purchasing and Risk Management Division, on behalf of the Utilities Department, released an invitation to bid to establish a contract for flow meters, parts, repairs, and recalibration service.

Two bids were received with award recommendation to Gossamer Bay, Inc. d/b/a Universal Controls Instrument Service Co., as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

This contract will replace Contract No. 145-0192-B(LN) Flow Meters, Parts, Repairs, and Recalibration Service, which will expire on September 12, 2021

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated sixty-month expenditure not-to-exceed:                     $ 9,731,881.76

 

Estimated average annual expenditure is:                                           $1,946,376.35

 

Funding is derived from the Water and Sewer Revenue & Operating Funds.
