Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 with David Nelson Construction Co. for 46th Avenue North from 49th Street North to 38th Street North - American Rescue Plan Act

 

                     The purpose of this project is to install 8’ sidewalk on the north side of the road, 5’ sidewalk on the south side, shallow swales, milling & resurfacing, and traffic signal mast arms at the intersection of 49th Street North and 46th Avenue North.

                     Change Order No. 1 increases the contract by $184,395.28 and adds 77 calendar days to address cost and time associated with delays to the contractor due to the redesign of the proposed drainage system to eliminate conflicts with sanitary sewer laterals.

                     This contract was awarded by the Board on August 13, 2024, for $6,433,331.50.

                     Funding for this agreement is included in the Capital Improvement Plan, budgeted under the following projects: 46th Avenue North from 49th Street North (CR 611) to 38th Street North. Roadway Improvements Project 002131A, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the Penny for Pinellas, 49th Street North at 46th Avenue North Intersection Improvements Project 005539A, funded by the Penny for Pinellas, and the 46th Avenue North Sidewalk Improvements from 49th Street North to 37th Street North Utility Relocation Project 002131B, funded by the Sewer Renewal & Replacement Fund.

 

Contract No. 24-0825-ITB-C, increase in the amount by $184,395.28 for a revised total agreement amount of $6,617,726.78 and add 77 consecutive calendar days; final completion January 11, 2027.

Summary:

This change order provides an increase in the amount of $184,395.28 and an additional 77 calendar days to compensate the contractor for stopped work delays due to redesign of the drainage system to eliminate conflicts with sanitary sewer laterals.
