Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Third Amendment to Sublease Addendum for warehouse space for the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) from the Florida International University Board of Trustees (FIU) for purposes of storing marketing items.
• The warehouse space is needed to accommodate marketing material storage.
• The sublease term shall be extended from July 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024.
• FIU can only offer a ten (10) month sublease term extension as they cannot extend the sublease past their lease agreement end date.
• The Fiscal Year 2023 impact is an increase in rent of $1,008.96.

Summary:
This Third Amendment extends the sublease addendum term from July 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024 for storage space of 1,872 square feet and three (3) shelves on a pallet rack needed to accommodate marketing material storage.
Background/Explanation:
In September 2017, CVB relocated their warehouse storage from the Epicenter to the existing subleased location at FIU in order to facilitate a reduction in employee travel time to the warehouse and provide 24-hour access to stored items. After the relocation, the Sports and Events Department created a new Activations Team to attend and support sponsored sports events. The team is required to market the destination and does so with marketing and promotional materials.
The original sublease addendum commenced July 1, 2017 for a period of 60 months. National Forensic Science Technology Center, Inc. was acquired by FIU effective January 9, 2018. The warehouse is located at 8285 Bryan Dairy Road, Suite 125, Largo.
The First Amendment expanded the rentable square feet (RSF) within the Premises from 828 to 1,872 square feet and added an additional pallet rack of storage consisting of three (3) shelves. The additional storage space and pallet rack are needed to accommodate additional marketing material storage.
The Second Amendment extended the term from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
This Third Amendment will extend the term from July 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024.
Fiscal Impact:
The Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) impact will see a rental increase of $1,008.96 from $42,431.04 to $43,440.00 and is funded by the CVB operating budget.

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this amendment is granted under Code Section 2-62(a)(2).
