Summary

As a recipient of SHIP funds, the County must have an affordable housing advisory committee, as required by the Florida Statute section 420.9076. The County’s SHIP Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC), established in 2008, is responsible for reviewing policies, land development regulations, the Comprehensive Plan Policy, and other aspects of the County’s policies and procedures that affect the cost of housing. In addition, the AHAC Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners to encourage affordable housing.

The AHAC Committee reviewed and approved the draft Report on November 4th, 2020.  The meeting was noticed as a public hearing. In order to be eligible to receive fiscal year 2021-2022 SHIP funding, the AHAC’s Report must be submitted to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation by December 31, 2020.
