Approve the Interlocal Agreement (Agreement) with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) for law enforcement services at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (Airport).
Contract in the amount of $727,956.78 for a one (1) year term commencing October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. Authorization for the Chairman to sign and Clerk to attest.

Summary:
This Agreement continues the provision of airport law enforcement services at the current service level. The one (1) year term in the amount of $727,956.78 will commence October 1, 2016 and remain in effect through September 30, 2017, with the intent to renew annually thereafter. The new Agreement represents an increased amount of $54,036.54 or 8.02% from the previous Agreement in the amount of $673,920.24, due to increases in salary, vehicle costs, supervision, and equipment.
Background Information:
In October 2005, the Board approved an Interlocal Agreement with the PCSO for law enforcement services for five (5) one-year terms. The first term commenced October 1, 2005 and remained in effect through September 30, 2006. It was renewed on an annual basis for the term of the Agreement and expired September 30, 2010. The Board has approved annual Interlocal Agreements for the period of October 1 through September 30 for each Fiscal Year (FY), from FY11 through FY16.
Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact is $727,956.78 and funds are budgeted in the FY 17 Operating Budget. This agreement is consistent with the FY17 Proposed Budget for both the Airport and the Sheriff.
