Approval of the agreement with FPG Florida, LLC d/b/a A Life Tribute Funeral Care - Largo Chapel for indigent burial and cremation services.

 

                     This contract will provide for all aspects of removal/transport, storage, next of kin due diligence, cremation/burial and other defined services, with statutory requirements for next-of-kin discovery and facilitation of claims requiring body storage. Unclaimed veteran burials are coordinated with the National Cemetery for burial with honors.

                     The services provided under this contract are required per Florida Statute Chapter 406 for the disposition of indigent and unclaimed bodies.

                     A single proposal was received in response to the solicitation, resulting in an award recommendation to the incumbent vendor, Alife. Market research and outreach verified that Alife is the only locally available source equipped to fulfill the contract requirements.

                     The initial term of the agreement is for five years and is for a not-to-exceed contract value of $2,750,000.00.

                     Funding for this agreement is included in the Fiscal Year 2027 Proposed Budget for Human Services within the General Fund. Funding for future years is dependent on approval in the annual County Operating Budget.

 

Contract No. 26-0292-RFP; in the not to exceed contract value of $2,750,000.00, effective for five years; Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Circuit Court to attest.

Background Information:

An RFP was issued on March 13, 2026, with one submittal received; following written evaluations, the committee recommended award to Alife who is also the incumbent vendor. Negotiations finalized July 24, 2026.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Five (5) years estimated not to exceed: $2,750,000.00

 

Funding for this agreement is included in the FY27 Proposed Budget for Human Services within the General Fund. Funding for future years is dependent on approval in the annual County Operating Budget.
