Approval by the County Administrator of the award of bid with Sprinklermatic Fire Protection Systems Inc., (Sprinklermatic) for requirements fire protection systems.

Bid No. 178-0431-B(AM) in the annual amount of $219,360.00 for a sixty (60) month term total of $1,096,800.00 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting specifications.

Summary:

This contract is for requirements of fire protection systems maintenance and repair services which includes safety testing, inspection, certification and repairs for County owned and leased properties, as required.

 

Background/Explanation:

On September 25, 2018, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Real Estate Management Department, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for safety testing, inspection, certification and repair services of fire protection systems.   This contract replaces the current contract with Piper Fire expiring December 31, 2018

The contract has provision for price adjustment at twelve (12) months after the date of award and thereafter annually for the term of the contract, in an amount not to exceed the average of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all Urban Consumers based on the twelve (12) months prior.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed: $1,096,800.00

 

Estimated annual expenditure not to exceed: $219,360.00

 

Funding is derived from the requesting department’s operating budget.

 

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to award this bid is granted under Code Section 2-188(b).
