Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Amendment No. 1 to the funding agreement between Pinellas County and the City of Madeira Beach (City) toward the construction of a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station.
• The County and the City are parties to the Redington Beaches EMS Station Funding Agreement, which was executed June 11, 2024, pursuant to which the County provides funding to the City for the construction of a new EMS station. The term of the agreement currently ends September 30, 2026.
• The Parties have authority to amend this Agreement pursuant to Section 13 and desire to amend this Agreement to allow for remaining funds not paid in Fiscal Year 2025-26 to be budgeted for and paid in Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27.
• All remaining funds not paid in FY25-26 will be budgeted in FY26-27 and paid to complete the project up to the project cap of $7,400,000.
• The term of this Agreement is amended to end on September 30, 2027.
• City and County agree that this Amendment is effective upon execution.
• Funding for this amendment is available under Redington Beach Rescue Station project (002996A), included in the FY26-FY31 Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the Capital Fund. The agreement amount is unchanged.

The County and the City are parties to the Redington Beaches EMS Station Funding Agreement, which was executed June 11, 2024, pursuant to which the County provides funding to the City for the construction of a new EMS station. The term of the agreement currently ends September 30, 2026. .
The Parties have authority to amend this Agreement pursuant to Section 13 and desire to amend this Agreement to allow for remaining funds not paid in Fiscal Year 2025-26 to be budgeted for and paid in Fiscal Year 2026-27.
Should the City fail to construct the facility by September 30, 2027, the City shall return the original funding amount to the County.
Fiscal Impact:
Amendment 1 extends the Redington Beaches EMS Station Funding Agreement from September 30, 2026, to September 30, 2027, and allows any County funds remaining after FY26 to be budgeted and disbursed in FY27. The amendment does not increase the project's maximum County funding of $7,400,000. If the City does not complete construction of the facility by September 30, 2027, it must return the original funding amount to the County.
Funding for this amendment is available under Redington Beach Rescue Station project (002996A), included in the FY26-FY31 Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the Capital Fund. The agreement amount is unchanged.
