Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment to the agreement with Renker Eich Parks Architects, Inc. (Renker) for Professional Architectural Consulting Services.

 

                     This agreement provides Professional Architectural Consulting Services associated with the County’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) or various operating and maintenance projects.

                     The First Amendment increases the total agreement amount by $200,000.00 for a revised not to exceed amount of $900,000.00 to provide sufficient funds for the completion of vertical construction and renovation projects currently under way.  

                     The Board of County Commissioners approved this contract on August 24, 2021, in the original amount of $5,600,000.00 per the Consultant Competitive Negotiation Act Florida Statute 287.055. Renker was one of eight firms awarded. Each firm was awarded an amount not to exceed $700,000.00.

                     Various projects/work order assignments budgeted in the FY23-FY28 Capital Improvement Program and/or FY23 Operating Budget will be sourced to this agreement per individual work assignments on a multiple year/multiple work assignment basis.

 

Contract No. 21-0259-CN increase in the amount of $200,000.00 for a revised not to exceed total expenditure of $900,000.00 with Renker, effective through August 23, 2026. The revised total expenditure between the eight awarded firms is $5,800,000.00.

Summary:

This agreement provides continuing professional architectural services on an as needed basis. These services are associated with the County’s Capital Improvement Program or various operating and maintenance projects as they arise related to County facilities. An increase is required to provide service until the end of the contract.

 

Background/Explanation:

The Board of County Commissioners approved this contract on August 24, 2021, in the original amount of $5,600,000.00 per the Consultant Competitive Negotiation Act Florida Statute 287.055. Renker was one of eight firms awarded. Each firm was awarded in the amount of $700,000.00 for a five-year term through August 23, 2026.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Original Award with Renker:                                                            $700,000.00

First Amendment Increase with Renker:                                               $200,000.00

Revised Contract Not to Exceed Amount with Renker:                       $900,000.00

 

 

Combined Award with 8 Firms:                                                                                     $5,600,000.00

Various projects/work order assignments budgeted in the FY23-FY28 Capital Improvement Program and/or FY23 Operating Budget will be sourced to this agreement per individual work assignments on a multiple year/multiple work assignment basis. Funding is not committed until a Purchase Order is assigned. While this amendment will create purchasing availability, it does not guarantee that the full contract amount will be spent. Departments may use up to the full amount.

 

Delegated Authority:

The County Administrator has authority to approve this first amendment per Code Section 2-62 (a)(2).
