Recommended Action

Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approving Case No. CW 26-11, a proposal by the City of Clearwater as outlined above.

The proposed amendment would maintain consistency with a concurrent Future Land Use Map amendment associated with the property’s annexation in the City.

The site is owned by the City of Clearwater, maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department, and located adjacent to existing lands within Moccasin

Lake Nature Park.

The City acquired the parcel to expand the park and intends to use the property for park, recreation, and environmental open-space purposes.

The amendment area is currently vacant and surrounded by a mix of residential development and existing recreation/open space uses.

Forward Pinellas and the Planners Advisory Committee each unanimously recommended approval of the proposal.
