Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approving Case No. CW 26-11, a proposal by the City of Clearwater as outlined above.
• The proposed amendment would maintain consistency with a concurrent Future Land Use Map amendment associated with the property’s annexation in the City.
• The site is owned by the City of Clearwater, maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department, and located adjacent to existing lands within Moccasin
Lake Nature Park.
• The City acquired the parcel to expand the park and intends to use the property for park, recreation, and environmental open-space purposes.
• The amendment area is currently vacant and surrounded by a mix of residential development and existing recreation/open space uses.
• Forward Pinellas and the Planners Advisory Committee each unanimously recommended approval of the proposal.
