Approval of a real property purchase and sale agreement with Patrick D. Haines, for the County’s sale of surplus land located west of 69th Steet North, between 49th Avenue North and 50th Avenue North, St. Petersburg; execution by the Board Chairman of a County Deed to the buyer; and authorization for Real Property Division staff to handle the transaction. 

 

                     Sale of County-owned parcel no. 06-31-16-00126-001-0190, consisting of approximately 0.02 acre, to an adjoining property owner, for a sale price of $3,000.00.

                     The County acquired the parcel in 2001 by Tax Escheat Deed.

                     The Board declared the parcel as surplus by Resolution No. 23-1 dated January 17, 2023.

                     The proceeds from the sale of County parcels are not budgeted and will be deposited in the General Fund when received.

Pursuant to the Real Property Purchase and Sale Agreement, the County will sell the vacant parcel of land to an adjoining property owner, Patrick D. Haines, for a sale price of $3,000.

Background Information:

The County is engaging in on-going efforts to dispose of property that the Board has previously declared as surplus. For the subject parcel, County staff contacted all adjoining property owners to solicit bids. Only this buyer submitted an offer, for $3,000, which County staff determined is reasonable based upon the Property Appraiser’s valuation. Closing to occur within 30 days after full contract execution. Buyer pays all closing costs. 

 

Fiscal Impact:

$3,000 in sales proceeds to the County, to be deposited into the General Fund. 

There is neutral fiscal impact affiliated with the sale of this surplus property.
