Bid No. 178-0044-B(LN); in an annual amount of $287,554.00 for a thirty six (36) month total of $862,662.00 on the basis of being lowest, responsible bid received meeting specifications.

Summary:

This contract is for requirements of polymer utilized at the South Cross Bayou and William E. Dunn Water Reclamation Facilities.  Polymers are used to thicken and dewater bio solids generated during the wastewater treatment process so that bio solids may be 100% beneficially re-used as Class AA fertilizer.

The contract has provision for price adjustments at twelve (12) month intervals after date of award not to exceed the Producer Price Index (PPI) for Chemicals and Allied Products and one (1) twenty four (24) month term extension. 

 

Background Information:

On November 21, 2017, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Utilities Department (Utilities), released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for wastewater polymers.  During the solicitation process, vendors were required to test and qualify their polymer products on County equipment.  Test results were verified by a third party laboratory.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated annual expenditure not to exceed $287,544.00

 

Estimated thirty-six (36) month expenditure not to exceed:  $862,662.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities Operating Budget
