• Application requests $406,190.00 for continued support of the County’s existing Air Pollution Control Program from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
• Estimated County match is $701,300.00.
• Additional program income amount of $246,500.00 is estimated to be generated during the project period and deducted from the total project costs.

• The expected grant amount and the grant match are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2024 Proposed Budget.

Summary:
The purpose of this application is continued USEPA funding for the existing County Air Pollution Control program to assist in planning, developing, establishing, improving and maintaining adequate programs for prevention and control of air pollution. The grant would provide the County up to $406,190.00. A required County match of $701,300.00 is estimated over the one-year project period with an additional program income amount of $246,500.00 estimated to be generated during the project period to reduce total project costs as allowed per 2 CFR 200.307(e)(1). The project period is October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
Background/Explanation:
The County’s air program is recognized by the USEPA and State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) as an approved local air pollution control program eligible to receive federal grant funding. The County has the authority, through prior agreements, to protect air quality through the implementation of federal and state air pollution rules and regulations.
Fiscal Impact:
Application request is for $406,190.00 for the one-year term. Matching funds are estimated at $701,300.00. Program Income is estimated at $246,500.00. The grant is on a reimbursement basis. The source of the estimated total project costs of $1,353,990.00 is from Public Works’ Environmental Management Division's Air Quality operating budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. Partial grant reimbursement revenues, associated expenditures, Program Income and County match, are included in the FY 2024 Proposed Budget.
