Approval by the County Administrator of the emergency contracting purchase with Johnson Laux Construction, LLC for the replacement of the fire sprinkler suppression system at the Pinellas County Safety Complex (PCSC).
• Emergency request to exercise a contract to purchase services for replacement of the fire sprinkler suppression system located in Building 1 of the PCSC-in the amount of $3,150,000.00 for all labor, material, and equipment.
• The sprinkler system within the portion of Building 1 that includes the Emergency Operations Center, the 911 and Data Center, and Sheriff’s Operations is experiencing increased failures and leaks within the existing system and must be replaced due to life/safety requirements.
• The County Administrator has authority in any amount to approve emergency purchases under Purchasing Code 2-181.
• Funding for this project is budgeted under the PSC Fire Suppression System Replacement Project 006760A, included in the Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the General Fund and the Government Facilities Remodel and Renovation Program Project 004100A, funded by the Penny for Pinellas.
Contract No. 26-0205-E in the amount not to exceed $3,150,000.00 through completion of the work.

Summary:
Construction and Property Management has requested an emergency purchase of contracted services for the replacement of the entire fire suppression system in the western portion of the PCSC - Building 1. Due to increasing failures and leaks within the existing system, the entire sprinkler system within the portion of the building that includes the Emergency Operations Center, and the 911 Center must be replaced. Also included in this area is the Data Center serving 911 and Sheriff's Operations.
Background/Explanation:
This emergency request is for all labor, material, and equipment to furnish and install the replacement of the fire sprinkler suppression system on the west side of the main building serving the Sheriff’s Office at the PCSC, located at 10750 Ulmerton Road, Largo.

Amount not to exceed $3,150,000.00.
Funding for this project is budgeted under the PSC Fire Suppression System Replacement Project 006760A, included in the Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the General Fund and the Government Facilities Remodel and Renovation Program Project 004100A, funded by the Penny for Pinellas.
