Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the temporary alcohol waiver for Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation for Celebration of Life - John Thomas at Florida Botanical Gardens.
• The wine and beer will be provided by the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation. The wine and beer will be given to attendees at no charge during the hours of 3:30-5:45 p.m. We will request enough wine and beer to serve approximately 100 people.
• The wine, in bottles, and the beer, in cans, will be kept iced in coolers and poured into plastic cups for consumption.
• The wine and beer will be poured and served by volunteers, of legal drinking age, under the direction of the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation. Anyone who even appears to be under the age of 21 will be required to show legal identification. No one will be served without a proper ID proving their age to be 21 or older.
• Wine and beer will not be provided until 3:30 p.m. There will be no access to any remaining wine or beer after 5:45 p.m. Unused wine and beer and cups will be returned to the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation.
• The Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation will create a bar in the Outdoor Classroom of the Majeed Discovery Garden, restricting all wine and beer serving to be within this compound. We will limit the consumption of wine and beer to the adjacent lawn circle outside of the classroom. We will be blocking off portions of the Majeed Discovery Garden for this private event, so only attendees of the event will have access to the alcohol.
• This temporary alcohol waiver has no fiscal impact on Pinellas County.
