• First Amendment in amount of $204,226.14 necessary due to unforeseen conflicts encountered while performing utility work on subject property.
• As this is a County project, First Amendment increase to be paid by City to County.
• JPA approved by Board of County Commissioners for $267,446.55 on July 30, 2024.
• Funding for this project is budgeted under the Whitney Road and Wolford Road intersection and Roadway Improvements Project 002109A, funded by the Penny for Pinellas, the American Rescue Plan Act, and Multimodal Impact Fees, as well as funded by the Water, Sewer and Reclaimed Water Relocation Projects Program Project 000831A, funded by the Sewer Renewal & Replacement fund, included in the Capital Improvement Plan.

The First Amendment to the JPA increases the total amount by $204,226.14. This Amendment to the JPA incorporates additional work necessary to resolve unforeseen conflicts.
The original JPA was approved by the Board for $267,446.55 on July 30, 2024. The bid amount by the Contractor who was awarded the contract was for $683,482.00

Background Information:
The project consists of improving the Whitney Road and Wolford Road intersection and includes drainage, sidewalk, and roadway improvements from Sapphire Lane to Hidden Springs Place, and realignment of the roadway at the intersection. The amended JPA represents the City’s portion of work and is part of a larger County capital improvement project.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact to the County’s contribution to this project for the City’s portion of work under this Amendment to the Joint Project Agreement (JPA). The City’s preliminary estimate for the utility work is $194,501.09, plus five percent (5%) or $9,725.05 for contract administration and compaction and backfill testing costs for an amount of $204,226.14.
The amended JPA represents the City’s portion of work and is part of a larger County capital improvement project, the Whitney Road and Wolford Road intersection and Roadway Improvements Project 002109A.
