Summary:
This drainage connection permit is required for proposed changes within FDOT’s right-of-way as a result of the roadway widening for this project. The permit application requires the County to indemnify FDOT. County Resolution No. 06-70 does not allow the County to indemnify others, and FDOT will not modify their indemnification language contained in the standard permit application. County staff, in accordance with the County Attorney’s office, agree that the requirement is within an acceptable level of risk. The County Administrator is authorized to approve the exemption request as provided in County Resolution No. 06-70.
Background/Explanation:
This project consists of intersection improvements by adding protected left turn lanes on all legs of the intersection to address safety concerns. The improvements also provide connectivity to FDOT’s sidewalk project on NE Coachman Road (SR 590), and provide trail connectivity to the Duke Energy and Ream Wilson Trails.
