Sitting as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority, issue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital - LIFELINE/Med Trans West.

Authorize the Chairman to sign the certificate.

Summary:

The COPCN process is a countywide regulatory system for licensing EMS providers and local systems of healthcare.  Pinellas County Code, Chapter 54 and Florida Statutes, Section 401.25, requires entities providing ambulance services to obtain a COPCN in order to transport a patient in Pinellas County.

 

Background Information:

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital LIFELINE is requesting to add Helicopter Ambulance Service to its already existing COPCN for Inter-Hospital, Ground Transport of Neonatal Intensive Care Patients and Non-Discharged Pediatric Patients.  If approved, the new expiration date will be December 31, 2017.
