Approval by the County Administrator for Change Order No. 1 with the The Artec Group, Inc. (Artec) for a time only extension for the Airport Terminal Improvements - Phase 3, Gate 7-10 Addition Rebid.  County Administrator to execute the change order after proper execution by the contractor. 

Contract no. 156-0155-CP(PF); PID No. 001544A; extending the contract expiration date from August 28, 2017 to October 12, 2017.

Summary:

This change order request is for a time only extension of forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days.  During the course of this project, there have been unforeseen conditions, which may have resulted in the Artec needing extra time in order to complete the work.  As a result, the County agrees to provide Artec an additional forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days as a reasonable amount of time to complete all necessary work pertaining to this project, in accordance with the contract documents.   Therefore, the Airport recommends that the contract duration be extended forty-five (45) consecutive calendar days from the original completion date of August 28, 2017, thereby making the completion date to be October 12, 2017.

 

Background/Explanation:

This project adds approximately 12,000 square feet of passenger hold room capacity to gates 7 through 10 adding 750 seats.  Additionally, construction rehabilitation to restrooms, and in baggage claim areas as well as upgrades to security checkpoints.

The Board of County Commissioners approved the award of this contract on March 15, 2017. 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Change order is for a time only extension and no additional funding will be provided.

Funding is derived from the Passenger Facility Charges budget.

 

Delegated Authority:
