Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order 1 Final to Metro Equipment Service, Inc. for construction services pertaining to the County Road 95 Force Main Relocation project.

 

                     This project included the construction of a new 8-inch diameter pvc sewer force main that replaced an 8-inch ductile iron sewer force main that was at the end of its useful life.

                     Following Final Completion, staff processed closeout documents, receipt and approval of certified as-builts required, and receipt and audit of final invoice. Final quantities have been tabulated resulting in a net increase of $19,343.44, which is the difference between preliminary estimated and final quantities used. All work was completed within 290 consecutive calendar days.

                     This project was originally approved by the Board of County Commissioners on October 12, 2021, in the amount of $728,077.00.

                     Funding for this change order is available under CR95 Force Main Replacement/Relocation Project 004532A, included in the Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the Sewer Renewal and Replacement Fund, in the amount of $70,000.00.

 

Contract No. 21-0516-CP increase in the amount by $19,343.44 for a revised Final Agreement Amount of $747,420.44.

Summary:

The project was substantially complete on September 23, 2022, and obtained final completion on October 4, 2023. Final inspections of the project for all work performed under the contract were conducted by representatives of the Public Works Construction Management Division, EOR, Public Works Transportation and Stormwater Division. All work has been completed in accordance with the construction contract documents. The time between substantial and final completion accounts for the duration to complete the walkthrough inspection with project stakeholders and the completion of punch list items. After Final Completion, staff processed closeout documents, receipt, and approval of certified as-builts required, and receipt of final invoice. Final quantities have been tabulated resulting in a net increase of $19,343.44. This is the difference between estimated and final quantities.

 

Background Information:

This project consisted of the construction of approximately 3,200 linear feet of 8-inch diameter PVC force main installed in Palm Harbor, Florida. The existing former 8-inch force main, which has reached its useful life, was grouted, and abandoned in place. The project required road, sidewalk, and landscaping restorations.
