Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment in the amount of $30,778.00, and extension of the contract through December 31, 2023, to the purchase authorization for the supply, installation and engineering of a Motorola Radio in the new A125 Airbus Helicopter.
• The purpose of this contract is to supply, install and engineering of a Motorola Radio in the new A125 Airbus Helicopter.
• First Amendment to Increase the contract in the amount of $30,778.00 for a revised total not to exceed $4,026,398.00 and extend contract through December 31,2023 with Davenport Aviation, Inc.
• Public Works originally requested the radio be removed from the original scope to save money. However, Davenport proved to be the most economical approach so this amendment adds the radio back into the contract.
• This contract was awarded by the Board of County Commissioners on September 15th, 2022, in the amount of $3,995,620.00.
• Funding for this amendment will come from General Fund, Mosquito Control center within Public Works Department and will be covered by lapse within the operating budget.
Contract No. 23-0376-PB increase in the amount of $30,778.00 for a revised total not to exceed contract value of $4,026,398.00 with Davenport Aviation, Inc. effective through December 31, 2023.

Background Information:
Mosquito Control owns, and operated, two (2) Bell 47 Helicopters, a 1967 Bell TH-13T and a 1972 Bell 47G-5A. The 1972 Bell is no longer operational. The 1967 Bell is roughly 100 hours away from the next 1200-hour required overhaul maintenance. This overhaul is not feasible due to an inability to source needed parts with enough lifetime hours remaining to meet maintenance requirements.
The original contract was awarded by the Board of County Commissioners on September 15th, 2022, in the amount of $3,995,620.00
