Summary:
This agreement is for the FDOT to reimburse the County for studies and activities associated with TMDL implementation over the next five (5) years. The agreement between the County and FDOT continues the partnership which addresses impaired waters and allows for the reporting of pollutant loads accurately.
Background/Explanation:
FDOT is a co-permittee with the County on the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) permit. The Permit requires permittees identify sources of pollution to surface waters and work to reduce discharges as indicated in TMDLs. The County and FDOT have historically coordinated on the requirements of the MS4 permit, with the FDOT reimbursing the County for services associated with TMDL implementation.
Fiscal Impact:
The total reimbursement associated with this agreement is not-to-exceed $50,000 over the agreement period.
