Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment to the Agreement with High Sources, Inc. for janitorial services.

This contract provides janitorial services to all County locations except the airport.

This amendment adds new locations (911 Center 10750 Ulmerton Road and Sheriff Warehouses 7200/7209/7262/7286/7216 114th Ave Largo) in the amount of $288,288.00 and adds funds for consumables (toilet tissue, paper towels, chemicals, urinal blocks, trash bags etc) in the amount of $1,242,840.00 for a total increase of $1,531,128.00.  Consumables historically were purchased from many sources.  Essentially each division of Facilities purchased their own. To bring economy of scale and common sense to this contract, High Sources is now supplying. Unfortunately, there was not a proper accounting of consumables when this contract was developed resulting in gross underestimation.

This contract is established as a maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) contract of which the County Administrator may approve increases up to 50% of the original Board of County Commissioners award amount per County Code 2-184(b).

The Board approved this contract on August 15, 2023, in the amount of $6,897,115.00 for a 36-month initial term.

Funding for the first year of this agreement is included in the FY24 Adopted Budget of the Department Administrative Services, Economic Development, Parks and Conservation Resources, Solid Waste, and Utilities in the General Fund, the STAR Center Fund, the Solid Waste Revenue and Operating Fund, the Water Revenue and Operating Fund, and the Sewer Revenue and Operating Fund. Funding for the second year of this agreement is partially included in the requested FY25 Budget submission and partially to be requested in future budgets.

Contract No. 232-0230-B increase in the amount of $1,531,128.00 for a revised contract value of $8,428,243.00, effective through September 30, 2026.Body
