Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Certified Statement for the Use of Certified Public Funds as required to receive $467,756.00 from the Medicaid Certified Public Expenditures (CPE) Public Emergency Medical Transportation (PEMT) program.

•                     Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services, d/b/a Sunstar provides ambulance transportation to Medicaid recipients. The cost to provide these services exceeds the Medicaid reimbursement.

•                     The CPE PEMT program facilitates the ability to drawdown Federal funds to mitigate these unrecovered costs.

•                     Eligible costs to provide these services after Medicaid reimbursements were $719,071.66. Of that amount, $251,315.66 must be certified as a public expenditure to receive funds for the remaining uncompensated amount of $467,756.00.

o                     The $467,756.00 in revenue is offset by the associated expenditure of $28,065.36 for consulting services (6% fee), representing a net revenue of $439,690.64.Body
